Stingrays eat a lot of smaller fish. They also like to dine on small water creatures like shrimp, crabs, and shellfish. 

They are able to find food in the water around them by making use of the electroreceptors that are on their snouts. Although they spend all their time in the water, they actually have a keen sense of smell. They are able to detect prey very easily. 

These fish are such great hunters that other types of fish rely on them. Many fish follow Southern rays and consume the food they leave behind them as they move through the water.
